Veterinary doctor asks for eye drops with: Itraconazole 1 g, DMSO 30g, Fys. Serum 70g. Is this feasible?

Itraconazole does not dissolve, also not MBV magnetic stirrer. With mixer I get a cloudy liquid; Apparently, not all solids dissolve. Can DMSO be placed in the eye?

Answer

I read in various places in the literature that, for this composition, one speaks of a suspension; apparently it does not solve all itraconazole.

This obviously does not facilitate the preparation because in this suspension only fine particles are allowed to occur and that an extra effort is to be made. In addition, this suspension must also be sterile.

Therefore, I would recommend here to find out whether these eye drops do not exist as a commercial preparation, possibly abroad, from which you can then enter them.
