The TMF cooling ointment costs 300 grams more on raw materials than the amount paid by the RIZIV. Can this be cheaper without much diverging?

Miglyol is the most expensive raw material. A 5 liter size Miglyol would print the price but is a big investment for the pharmacy. Also Cetylesterwas is expensive and becomes only still by the Bassron divides. The RIZIV price on prescription is currently €27.18. This is in stark contrast to the €47 that the software proposes in the formulary as being a ' correct price ' for 300 grams of TMF cooling ointment. The lump sum allowance of the cream/ointment base is the culprit here. For 100 gram Cream This problem does not arise there the RIZIV price there €23.43 amounts to. Can the TMF formula be adjusted, taking into account the economic reality and cost of raw materials?

Answer

The price   used by the RIZIV for the raw materials remains a problem. You can substitute Arachisolie in the composition of the TMF Miglyol. I believe that Bassron also uses this oil in its cool ointment. If you want it even cheaper, you can use a food oil such as canola or corn oil. But........

The composition of the Bassron must correspond approximately with the following: Arachisolie 57.5 g; White was 12.5 g; Glycerinemono-oleate 5 g; and water up to 100 g.

Glycerinemono-Oleate is not available in Belgium but can be replaced by glycerol monostearate.
