Is there a good formula anti-Aften gel?

Answer

I would recommend a formula from the NF VI, which is also mentioned in my Galenic Formularium and on the question box.

R/benzocaine 1.5 g Hydrocortisone acetate 300mg Muntvlugolie 2 dr Protective mouth paste up to 30g

Mouth paste:

Aerosil 500mg After saccharinate 600mg Citroenvlugolie 5 dr CaCO3 4g Carbopol 24g Liquid Paraffin 72g

Now there are according to the question about "clot formation in the paste against canker sores NF VI"   a few problems due to interaction of CaCO3 with Carbopol so that Citroenvlugolie and I suspect therefore muntvlugolie should be replaced by something in the form of a Powder. Now there is very little available; I thought of cocoa powder (from the kitchen) or vanillin. So there is still a bit of finishing needed!

One can also take from the TMF:

R/lidocaine HCl 5g Hydrocortisone acetate 1g Na2HPO4 12 aq 100mg Glycerin 17g Mint Spiritus 500mg Nasaccharinate 100mg HPMC 4000 3g Water for preservation up to 100g

The question is which best sticks; this should be tried for a few moments after making a small amount. With this research I would start and the first formula comes out as best than but the taste on point. It is of course unfortunate that no flavored aromas are available in solid form where they exist!
