Replacement of Natriumanisaat in suppositories with theophylline theophylline monohydrate 350mg Natriumanisaat 350 mg Pro Suppo Uno

Problem: Natriumanisaat is out of the trade, so I'm looking for an alternative. Since the Pati ë NT has had this preparation for years I cannot just (as the doctor suggested) leave the natriumanisate out, as this can have an influence on bioavailability. Which product could possibly be replaced?

Answer

A series of compounds are described as an alternative to Natriumanisaat. But, as expected, about none is available as pharmaceutical raw material. Only salicylic acid or nasalicylate remains.
