Redomex tablets and Baclofen powder processing in capsules?

Redomex contains lactose, the specialty Baclofen also contains lactose. Should the preparation of Redomex 20 mg Baclofen 9 mg capsules lactose be used as filler and suppose that mannitol should be used can Redomex be combined with Baclofen in capsules?

Answer

The Maillard reaction is unpredictable. In Specialties One can sometimes find the use of lactose where one expects the use of mannitol according to the rules. Presumably, certain factors such as e.g. the relative humidity level of the working space, the quality used (particle size, moisture content, crystal water) of lactose can have an influence. Some of those factors have the industry in hand   while this is not the case in the Officina. So there is sometimes some trial and error involved!
