Problems with the following preparation: dexamethasone 30mg adeps Lanae, aqua 16g cetylstearyl alcohol 5g isopropyl 24g Aqua AD 100g

I have the CR è me prepared with "emulsifying" cetylstearyl alcohol. When incorporating dexamethasone, the CR è me became very fluid. How can I fix it?

Answer

When using emulsifying Cetosteaylalcohol one introduces an O/W emulsifier, which is then in conflict with the ADEPs Lanae (W/O). On the other hand, the vorziene amount of wool fat is insufficient to incorporate all water (55g). The path to succeed depends, of course, on the desired emulsion type. If one wishes a W/O cr è me then the amount of wool fat of 12g on 24g will have to be brought and the water reduced from 55g to 44g. If one wishes an O/W then one uses a sufficient quantity (10 à 15g) emulsifying cetosearyl alcohol.
