Please explain the following formula and preparation method:

Chlorhexidinegluc 500mg lidocaine HCL 1g HPMC 4000 9.7 g frambozenextr 1g white Vaseline AD 50g S/preparation to apply to the tongue < br/>

Answer

This composition is rather exceptional. It is based on the Hypromellosis ointment 20%, which you can find in the booklet Galenic Formularium on page 186. The intention is to prepare an adhesive ointment, here with disinfectant and Anaesthesierende properties.

There is a small incompatibility in the composition namely between chlorhexidine and chloride ions. I would replace Chlorhexidinegluc with the diacetate. Not that incompatibility no longer holds but we then have a powder and not a solution. I would mix all the powders and then gradually rub off with white petroleum jelly into a homogeneous whole. Then add the raspberry extract and mix it under the whole.
