  • like the different steps how best to proceed.
  • How does one make the distinct constituents (substances, logistics) sterile?
  • in itself, the preparation is not as difficult as it is not that they should be delivered sterile.

Answer

This preparation is proof that pharmacists should be able to work sterile!

  1. Pharmacists should be able to prepare this in principle; This is indeed a magijet prescription from a physician.
  2. of course the sterility complicates the preparation of the preparation, the formulation of which is simple, as you say yourself.
  3. the use of a LAF cabinet is more than commendable!
  4. you start with the sterilization of the raw materials:
  5. all fats together in a beaker covered with aluminium foil in the drying oven at 150 degrees for 1 hour
  6. a spatula, stirring rod and ointment tube (without cap) in butter paper RePack and forward life;
  7. to bring the amount of filtered after chloride solution into a closed clean vial (slight excess)
  8. B and C sterilize 20 min at 120 degrees
  9. after sterilization let the fats cool to skin temperature; drying the logistics in a drying oven or oven and then place everything in the LAF cabinet.
  • One flushes the cap twice with a little antiseptic solution; Allow to dry in the LAF cabinet;
  • One draws a pair of sterile gloves and gently unpacks the rudder rod
  • One measures the required amount of solution with a sterile syringe and needle and mixes it intensively with a rudder rod in the fats;
  • after that, it is carefully transferred with a sterile spatula the eye ointment in the dry sterilized tube and closed with cap;
  • one closes the tube. It is not complicated but it takes some practice!
    Note: Here Lanolin = wool fat!!
