One of our colleagues has problems with the following preparation:

Ammoniacal ANIJSOPL. 60 Dr Promethazine Hcl 80 mg Na-benzoate 1.5 g Tolu syrup 30 g raspberries syrup, Aqua AA AD 300 ml < br/> One gets ever precipitation. How to fix this?

Answer

I suggest to add per quantities of 250 mg Vit C; Until the precipitation dissolves back. The ascorbic acid, which also acts as an antioxydance, will convert Nabenzate to benzoeic acid (which is beneficial) and neutralize the ammonia from the ammoniacal solution.

Another possibility is to omit Nabenzoate and use Aqua Conservans. Addition of Vit C will still remain necessary to neutralize the ammonia but the required quantity will be lower.
