My loco Terra Cortril suspension, used as nasal droplet, has a low viscosity. Oxytetracycline HCl 123 mg hydrocortisone acetate 340mg polymyxin B sulfate 228000 IU

Petroleum Jelly 2.5 G
Liquid paraffin ad 20ml < BR/> We first dissolved 3% zinc stearate in liquid paraffin at 110 ° C and then added lightly heated petroleum jelly. After cooling, the medicinal products were added. The result remains rather liquid. Can I deliver this in a drip bottle, because impossible in tube.? Is there another method for better suspension?

Answer

Apparently, 3% zinc stearate is insufficient to obtain a suitable viscosity. You can increase the percentage. It is also easy to change the ratio of Vaseline/liquid paraffin to the benefit of the Vaseline. E.g. 5g petroleum jelly.
