A pediatrician nearby prescribes the following powder formula for reflux in small children:
R \ alginic acid 100g; Mgtrisilicate 5g; Nabicarbonaat 34g; Aerosil 1g, alhydrate 20g; Mannitol 40g
Is there a substantial difference between using alginate and alginic acid? Or can the alginic acid also be replaced by another substance with similar properties?
Answer
If I have the composition overflow of Gaviscon powder then I find after alginate back, combined with NaHCO3 and CaCO3. So I would use alginate.
