Question

I am looking for a formula to keep eosin aqueous solution, in a magistal preparation, longer. Can you help me please?

Answer

There are several solutions to give a watery eosin solution a longer use. In terms of preservation, it is out of the question to impose a bottle of stock!!
the instability of this solution is of a microbiological nature. It starts badly because Eosin is known as a heavily contaminated product. A first important point is that the solution is prepared ex tempore with freshly cooked water if not, it can be filled in pure bottles-e.g. 100 ml-and sterilized by autoclaving.

would you like to add a preservative to the solution then you can choose from:

  • alcohol 10% (some say it begs!)
  • Thiomersal 4 mg per 100 ml
  • citric acid opl 0.05%
    35 g for 100 ml 1% OPL and 58 g for 100 ml 2% Solution
(Of course WOR A sour pH is set here.
In Any case I want to strongly recommend the last possibility with a usage mine of up to 1 month and if you (or your customers!!) Have problems with the ex tempore preparation: Prepare in advance according to the procedure described above!

to finish, I would like to say that it is currently difficult to compete against the individual adult in polyethylene tubes via the blow-fill system. These are more expensive in purchase but you do not have to throw away!
