How to prepare salicylic acid 2% liquor carb Det 5% ol Castor 1% spiritus 15% Aqua AD 100%

Answer

Discussion:
Two products are at the root of the problems namely salicylic acid that is not fully soluble in this concentration and castor oil that is insoluble in the water-alcohol mixture. In order to make both soluble, the salicylic acid will have to be used with an increased alcohol level while the castor oil will be applied for solubilisation.

Method:
Dissolve in 35 ml antiseptic solution The salicylic acid, the LCD and the castor oil; add 8 g of Tween 80 (or Cetomacogol 1000) and dilute gradually with water up to 100 ml.
