How to prepare the following: Hydrocortisone acetate 1% Unguentum Oculare AD 50 g 2 x per day to eyelids

Answer

To the eyelids is not the same as in the eyes. So in terms of sterility we can take a little gas back. Check the methodology for   "the preparation of eye ointments" on the question box. Hydrocortisone acetate is micronized and does not need to be used by the ointment roller, provided that you make sure to rub it thoroughly with the preferably still soft ointment base. The product stands at 150 °C and can therefore be sterilized as the ointment Base 1 hour at 150 °C. The tube can also be placed in the oven but not the cap! Rinse out with alcohol. Everything should be done as aseptic as possible for the preparation!
