How is next preparation best tackled? Ichtyol 150g Tween 20 150g carboxymethylcellulose 2 G water ad 1l <P> S/2 soup spoons per bath

Is there incompatibility between Ichtyol and carboxymethylcellulose?

Answer

Ichtyol is miscible with water and contains ammoniumsulfonates. So no incompatibility with CMC. This composition is mentioned in the Galenic Formularium on page 120 under the bath additives.

First disperse the CMC in hot water and mix, after cooling, the Ichtyol and then the Tween. Stir the whole gently to homogenous.
