How Guaiacol replace liquid in a magistal preparation for a dentist?

We get from a dentist the question of making the following preparation: Dexamethasone 63 mg, carbol acid 18.36 g, guaiacol liquid 14.73 g, propylene glycol 1.63 g, aqua 5.08 g and glycerol 10, 16g. Guaiacol liquid, however, is out of the trade, can this be replaced?

Answer

I suggest Sulpho resorcinol to use. According to me the only possibility but compare the two chemical formulas! I   would therefore halve the amount of Guaiacol and use the released quantity to increase the amount of propylene glycol. Propylene glycol being a good solvent for dexamethasone.
