How do I prepare these eyedrops with iodine: sodium iodide and potassium iodide Ana 100mg Fiat Collyrium 10 ml

Can I only prepare this on the basis of sterile water or is it necessary to correct the pH, make the eye drops Isotone,...?

Answer

The composition below is in NF 6 but some modifications should be made given the lack of certain raw materials.
R/Sodium iodide 100mg
potassium iodide 100mg
boron acid 36mg
Borax 2mg
sodium thiosulfate 10mg
phenylethyl alcohol 50mg
chlorbutanol 50mg
distilled water ad 10ml
modifications:
  1. borax can Be omitted as well as phenylethyl alcohol and chlorbutanol
  2. add in the site 0.1% of the mixture: Nipagine 7 D and Nipasol 3 D
use sterile water as solvent and sterilize by filtration.
