How to add 1.5 g urea to Betnelan V or Eumovate ointment 30g

Answer

  • according to the new Riziv rule, both specialties should be replaced by a loco-preparation, given the two active ingredients available in bulk: On the one hand betametasonvalerate and on the other hand clobetasonbutyrate.

  • a good loco-composition for the ointment basis consists of: Propylene glycol (solvent for the corticosteroide) 3g; Glycerrinemonostearate (W/O) emulsifier 1.5 g and Vaseline up to 30g.

  • Urea is a crystalline product that is not as easy to fine as "unpalpable" powder. Due to its high water solubility and presence of a W/O emulsifier in the ointment base, it can therefore be best dissolved in 1.5 ml of water and emulsified in the ointment.
