The following preparation will not succeed: Betamethasonevalerian 240mg Salicylic acid 10g Lanette SX 6g Aarnootolie medicinally 6g Water ad 300ml FSA emulsion UG

< br/> Different methods were tried as salicylic acid dissolve in a limited amount of boiling water but after adding remaining amount of water: white flakes of salicylic acid. Salicylic acid could be dissolved in alcohol, but struck down again when water was added. We then worked according to the formula of the TMF with Hydroxypropylcellulose and isopropyl alcohol. 10 g of salicylic acid we could dissolve in 60ml isopropyl alcohol but when adding the amount of water present, flakes were formed in the mixture. How should we solve this?

Answer

I think we should first start by looking at whether the emulsion is stable without salicylic acid and without betamethasone (matter of saving!). Although it is probably not possible to bring all salicylic acid into solution, I would replace the nut oil with castor oil in which salicylic acid is better soluble. If the emulsion Is stable, I would mix the medicine into a mortar and gradually rub off with the cold emulsion. What is soluble will be solved after a few hours.

She Is not stable then I would increase the amount and of castor oil and from Lanette to eg 10 g.
