I am asked by a cardiologist to make the Chloropotasuril Ampoulen from the Trade in solution (1 g K Chloride/10 ml = 13.56 mEg K; Delphi also mentions citric acid as an excipients (in addition to ethanol, sweetener and flavouring). I was wondering if adding citric acid had influence on the available K?
Answer
I would use a formula, which was published when potassium Durettes became unavailable. You can adjust the amount of KCl.
That formula reads
KALII CHLORIDUM 66,7 g
SORBITOLUM 70 PER CENTUM NON CRISTALLISABILE 644 g
TINCTURA CINNAMONI 8.55 g
PARABEN SOL CONC 5.00 g WATER AD 1000 ml
packaging bottle, opaque, max 1000 ml
origin prescription APB
