Can Ledertrexate tablets be crushed to be processed in capsules?

A child should take 6 tablets Ledertrexate and the doctor had asked for it to be processed in capsules so that the child had to have fewer pills. Now the question is whether we can just crush Ledertrexate tablets to be able to process them in capsules.

Answer

I think it is not possible in a normally equipped pharmacy. Not feasible within the context of the Officina.

Dez Link describes the precautions to take  :   http://www.hse.gov.uk/healthservices/safe-use-cytotoxic-drugs.htm

Hospital Pharmacy in Bonheiden Maybe you want to help?

I note that the tablets contain 2.5 mg of methotrexate. I suppose these are small tablets. The age of the child is not mentioned but   I would like to suggest the use of Gloup as an alternative for facilitating intake.

Then there should not be crushed!
