Can the flavour of an aromatised omeprazole suspension be improved?

Answer

(with the participation of Prof. Dr. K. Allegaert, pediatrician)
It is known that the taste of a KHCO3 solution is better than that of a NaHCO3 solution. So we could replace NaHCO3 with KHCO3. And so we come to the following composition:
R/omeprazole 120mg
potassium bicarbonate 5.04 g
Tween 80 60mg
Water ad 60ml
this gives per teaspoon 10 mg omeprazole and 420 mg KHCO3 = 164 mg K or 4.2 meq.

The & #039; normal daily dose & #039; potassium is 2 to 4 mEq/kg/day. The omeprazole doses used are 1-4 mg/kg/day.

This means an additional K load of 0.5 to 2 mEg/kg/day. This would certainly be relevant to Nephro Pati ë Nten. In the non-nephro pati ë Nten I think it should be able to.

Conclusion
provided the certainty that it is not a Nefro-pati ë nt The suspension can be prepared with KHCO3.
