Beclomethasone should be reorated in high rectal. Is there any possibility?

Already made with ADEPs Solidus but GERZEGD resorption is insufficient; They ask a ' softer ' suppo???

Answer

I suspect that this is a local therapy and if you want to get really high in the rectum a "soft" suppository is certainly not appropriate. Very often, in this case, a clysma is invoked. They exist as a speciality but can also be made Magijet. But I learned that neither doctor nor patient wants a enema.

A first approach, which can be tried out, is suppositories with a raised melting point. Between the answers to the questions, which were sent to this recipe-helpdesk, the method is to find out how the melting point of adeps solidus can be increased with wax.

A second approach is the addition of Carbomeer. I can't find recommendations on the quantity to use. Therefore, I would add 100 mg Carbomer 980 per suppository of 2 G.

Very important is also to dilute the beclomethasone with lactose to a homogeneous mixture, before bringing in the melted suppository mass. 300 mg of lactose per suppository can be used. The added amount of lactose and carbomer should also be charged for the calculation of the quantity of ADEPs solidus to weigh. The powder mass is rubbed with the melted suppository mass and transferred back quantitatively into the zetpilpan, possibly slightly warmed up before being poured.

Personally, I have no experience with the addition of Carbomer to suppository mass and so do not know if everything will blend nicely homogeneously. If not then it must be brought   still soft suppository mass-mixture, by the ointment mill. So take an excess of 10% to compensate for the possible losses.
