After processing hydrocortisone acetate 0.5% and chlorhexidinedigluconate 0.5% in a Carbopolgel are white flakes visible?

Answer

The fault does not lie with hydrocortisone acetate but in chlorhexidinedigluconate, which is incompatible with Carbopol. Although the elegance of the preparation is not progressing, the simplest solution remains the use of a hydroxyethyl cellulosic gel as described in the Galenic Formularium.
