Abilify in the form of a liquid preparation?

Answer

ABILIFY contains Aripiprazole (AB), a molecule that, after the review of its structural formula, appears insoluble in water. This can also be decided from the various compositions, which I could find for tablets, syrup and injection. For the syrup I could find the following:
Oral Solution is a clear, colorless to light yellow solution available in a concentration of 1 mg/mL. The inactive ingredients For this solution include Etidronate disodium edetate, fructose, glycerin, DL-lactic acid, methylparaben, propylene glycol, propylparaben, sodium hydroxide, sucrose, and purified water. The Oral solution is flavored with natural orange cream and other natural flavors.
acid is therefore added to make the product soluble in water. But I suspect that you will have to go out of the tablets, since the raw material in bulk is not available. Those tablets you will need to crush. In addition to the AB, the resulting mixture will contain all the excipients used to prepare the tablet. Many of these raw materials are insoluble in water and so it doesn't matter much that the AB is not dissolved because the preparation is still a suspension. In the sour middle of the stomach the AB should dissolve. If Liquid Excipi ë ns I would use sugar syrup or sorbitol 70% and water 1:1, viscous enough to keep the suspension after shaking up for a short time homogenous. It is not ruled out that the possible bad taste was not sufficiently masked. A first possibility is to make use of appelsien aroma as stated in the composition above. Banana is an aroma that children often like.
