Heeft metronidazole een antioxidans nodig?

Photodecomposition of metronidazole appeared to follow pseudo-first order kinetics. The rate of decomposition increased with temperature, pH, and intensity of radiation and decreased with increasing drug concentration. The presence or absence of oxygen had very little effect on the decomposition rate, indicating that oxidation and reduction reactions may not occur in the decomposition process. It was concluded that metronidazole is photolabile and should be protected from direct sunlight.
