Cream against parasitosis.

A skin doctor called me in connection with a Pati ë Nte, who has suffered a subcutaneous parasitic in a vacantiereis to Thailand. It appears that he had previously prescribed a CR è me on the basis of THIABENDAZOLE a 10%. But this product is no longer available. How to solve it?

Answer

(worked out with Apot. P. Roekaerts)
We can propose MEBENDAZOLE (VERMOX) as an alternative. Another possibility is DIETHYLCARBAMAZINE (to 3%) But this is only available as CITRATE. A salt seems less suitable for absorption by the skin. So perhaps best to start therapy with Mebendazole à 10%. However, the result will be measured by the subcutaneous migration of the thread worms.
