Color Flufenamic acid

The color of my flufenamic acid is sometimes different per lot? Is this normal?

Answer

Flufenamic acid is a product that is not described in an official pharmacopoeia such as the European Pharmacopoeia. For that reason the product can be obtained on analysis certificate and this is an 'internal monograph'. Also on the international market, no syntethiseur is used to making this product in accordance with a clear specification due to the lack of official monograph.

According to the most commonly used internal monograph, the 'appearance' can be described as follows: yellow crystalline powder or yellow to pale greenish-yellow needles. This is therefore a broad description and this ensures that various colors / shades are possible.

However, if the product has entered the market, the color of the powder has already been evaluated and found to be in conformity.
