This document is a tool for calculating the quantities of raw material to be weighing for the preparation of:
- 2% trituration Folic acid
- Folic acid capsules (with a maximum of 10 mg of folic acid per capsule)
and is based on the method described in the third edition of the therapeutic Magijet Formularium.
The calculations took into account:
- The water content of the raw material (Ph. Eur.: Water content = 5.0 à 8.5%);
- The purity of the raw material (Ph. Eur.: Folic acid content = 96.0 to 102.0%, calculated on the water-free substance);
- A correction for the loss of active substance during preparation (as imposed by the TMF in < 10 mg of active substance per capsule).
